In some cases it also has green stripes of various widths runing vertically around the perimeter of the culm. The appearance of this plant is like that of a giant Phyllostachys bambusoides ‘Castillon’ but it grows much larger and faster.  Unlike Phyllostachys vivax ‘Aureocaulis’ the yellow culm has not reverted back to green or Phyllostachys vivax ‘Huangwhenzhu’ so far for us at Bamboo World. Like all Vivax cultivars this plant is the fastest to reach timber size and spectacular groves in our climate.
