Phyllostachys vivax 'Huangwhenzhu'

This vivax cultivar is said to be hardier then the other cultivars of vivax.  It has green culms with a wide, bright, orange yellow stripe and is extremely rare.  Like plain Vivax,  this variety of giant hardy bamboo is one of the most vigorous and fastest growing.  It has excellent edible shoots and along with the other vivax cultivars is the fastest to reach timber size and spectacular groves.  Vivax huangwhenzhu is quite possibly the hardiest of all the big timbers.  (1 gallon $37.00, 2 gallon $45.00, 3 gallon $59.00, 5 gallon $89.00, 7 gallon $109.00)
