(Estimated West Coast Maximum
Height 45 feet) * Max culm diameter 5" *

The
culms are yellow with several green stripes of various widths. Extremely rare;
sold at the American Bamboo Society auctions in 1996 for $200 U.S. and $250 U.S.
Like plain Vivax, this variety of giant hardy bamboo is one of the most vigorous and fastest
growing. Its culms can reach 4" in diameter, in 3 years using a
rigorous fertilizing program. Nice edible shoots. The fastest to reach
timber size and spectacular groves. This plant is known to revert to Vivax
huangwhenzhu and plain Vivax as one of ours has done. It is possible to
end up with three different cultivars from this one. One of our favorite
bamboos. (1 gallon $75.00, 2 gallon $112.00, 3 gallon $150.00, 5
gallon $187.00, 7 gallon $207.00)
