Dracocephala Originates from the Mountains of China at elevations over 6000 feet. It forms a dense slowly spreading clump that is strongly weeping in habit. Unlike most Fargesia it is able to be in full sun without its leaves curling but it does prefer protection from the hottest afternoon sun. Being a hardy clumper that can be planted in the sun places it in a select group of clumpers. If planted on four foot centers it becomes a dense wall.
